The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 350

His eyes stayed on Zi Han’s naked body his expression calm but in truth, he was doing cartwheels internally in extreme happiness. He turned his back to Zi Han and as the warm water hit his face he showed an unrestrained smile.

Zi Han glanced at the powerful back in front of him and he subconsciously reached over to touch it. His fingers spread out as he rubbed and squeezed Yi Chen’s muscles.

After Yi Chen left he suddenly felt very anxious and descended into panic mode. His emotions were extremely fragile lately. They were as fragile as a porcelain doll. One push and he would fall apart immediately.

He opened the fridge and began hastily picking things up with his trembling hands before putting them down again seeming confused. His breathing became erratic like he was drowning in shallow waters but could not save himself.

He didn’t know when he crouched down on the floor and began to swipe his light brain calling his mother. It was only after he heard his mother’s voice did the chaotic mess in his mind settled.

“Han Han... follow the sound of my voice and come back to me. Don’t focus on anything else but me, okay?” were her words that brought him back out of that bad place.

Remember when Zi Xingxi warned him to be careful when healing someone? It was because she had a feeling that it did something to his emotional state. Her husband exhibited subtle behavioral changes when he healed the Marshal.

Sometimes she thought it was because of this that he thought it was a great idea to isolate his family on Death Star just to keep them safe. That man was a functional mental patient. Don’t get her wrong she still loved him flaws and all.

.....

The best way to put it was that he was like a crazy genius. Talented but with flaws that manifested, even more, when he used his abilities. As mentioned before, god truly does not give with both hands. There was a heavy price that came with it.

Now her sweet baby was manifesting the same behavioral changes which were being exacerbated with fear. Fear of losing the person he loves.

“Baby, tell mum what’s wrong. I told you not to leave but you snuck out....,” she said but Zi Han just pushed his head back sitting on the floor hugging his knees.

“Where is Yi Chen?... If he is not there then I will personally come and pick you up,” she continued when Zi Han didn’t give her an answer.

“No... he is here. I... am afraid,” he said his eyes stinging but no tears came out. It seemed he had cried himself dry.

Zi Xingxi kept silent for a while listening to his whimpers her heart breaking into pieces. “You think it will hurt less if you spend less time with him, don’t you?” she suddenly asked and Zi Han was taken aback.

“How did you...,” he asked only for Zi Xingxi to interrupt him saying,

“Don’t ask me how I know. I just know. The pain won’t be any less either way but you will most definitely regret it. Trust me, I know the feeling... Now stop,... stop wasting time talking to me and go spend time with, uh... I can’t believe I am saying this... go spend time with your man,” almost dry heaving. She had accepted the status quo but had never thought she would push her son toward Yi Chen out loud.

“Okay... Thank you, mum,” he whispered feeling a whole lot better.

“Just don’t heal anyone or anything like that. Oh and don’t overdo it....,” she said and Zi Han’s face flushed. He was thick skinned but not that thick skinned.

“.... and hey have you seen my black stilettos. I swear there is a pair missing. I don’t rem-,” she said but Zi Han interrupted her.

“Bye mum,” he said and with a click, the call ended.

Zi Xingxi, “...”

“You must be kidding me,” she muttered to herself only for Lynn Feng to lean back on her seat while sipping on some ramen,

“Han Han took them maybe three or four weeks ago. He said he wanted me to teach him some moves on heels. He wore mine but they were uncomfortable and then he said he will take yours.”

“What moves?” asked Zi Xingxi and Lynn Feng’s back stiffened as she swore under her breath,

“Shit.”

She dropped her chopsticks and swiveled her chair around while smiling stiffly, “Well... fuck.”

As soon as she said this she ran for her life. How was she supposed to tell her boss that she taught her son to dance? Actually no she taught him to strip tease.

“You better run!” yelled Zi Xingxi while picking up the steaming bucket of ramen left behind.

“Ugh chives.... and how many times did I tell you not to eat in the bridge,” she yelled but the culprit had already vanished like a ghost.

In the meantime, Zi Han was walking upstairs when his light brain buzzed again. Seeing that it was his mother he ignored it but that didn’t stop her.

She proceeded to bombard her son with a string of messages.

Xixi: You are so dead.

Xixi: Tell Yi Chen when I see him I will break his leg.

Xixi: No, I will break all his legs.

XiXi: His third leg too.

Zi Han, “...”

How was this the same person? How could she speak words of wisdom and type this a few minutes later? He was starting to think his mother had a split personality disorder.

Anyway, she was the reason why he was standing in the shower with Yi Chen. His mother was right. It hurts to part with the ones you love and this is why we should spend more time with them and love them because who knows what can happen today or tomorrow. Don’t procrastinate that phone call or delay that visit anymore because tomorrow is not promised to anyone.
