The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 61

“Wake up and put on your pyjama top otherwise you will catch a cold. Better yet how about you wear that cute panda onesie of yours....,” she said but Zi Han interrupted her as he got out of bed,

“It’s still too hot for that. I won’t be able to sleep.”

That is to say, he wasn’t refusing to wear it it’s just that he was afraid it would be too hot.

“Ma you should stop forcing video calls. What if I was doing something inexplicable wouldn’t it be embarrassing for the both of us,” said Zi Han walking out of the closet while putting on his pyjama top.

Zi Xingxi spun her chair around with a sly smile before saying, “Then don’t do inexplicable things... I heard you caused your grandfather trouble.”

Zi Han’s hand that was lifting the quilt froze before he lay into bed. He wasn’t certain if his mom would blame him for this so he cautiously replied, “Is that what he said?” while getting into bed.

“Yes, but he knew what he signed up for. I am more worried about that brutal punishment of his. Just find someone to do it for you,” she said seeming very confident like she had done a similar thing before.

Zi Han’s brow furrowed as he brought the screen towards him. “What? You got someone to do it for you?” exclaimed Zi Han. He wasn’t even surprised that she received the exact same punishment before. He now knew that every punishment he received was a prelude from the past.

.....

“Who did you get to do your punishment?” asked Zi Han only for his mother’s face to stiffen a little.

After seconds of contemplation, she finally replied, “I got your dad to do it. He was..... um..... he was good at it and it fooled your grandfather. Until now he thinks I copied that text.”

Zi Han could sense her unstable emotions. His chest tightened as he stared at her not sure what to do. He was curious about his father.

He wanted to know how they met and what sort of person he was but whenever his mother mentioned him her expression would become sullen with a heavy dark cloud looming over her head.

If the cost of knowing about his dad was this high then he didn’t want to know more thus he changed the focus of the conversation. “But I don’t know anyone good at this. This girl in class, Shannon is the artsy kind but I don’t want to burden her with this. We aren’t even close enough t....,” he explained only for his mother to interrupt.

“Zi Han! Are you dating already? I can tolerate you beating the shit out of people. You can even break Yi Chen’s nose ten times and I can deal with the fuckin consequences but if you dare get a girl pregnant I won’t let you go,” she said before cutting the call.

Zi Han, “???”

“What the fuck just happened,” mumbled Zi Han only for another video call to forcibly connect again,

“Oh and I forgot. I love you honey and I will see you in a couple of days. Now off to bed.”

Can somebody please explain to him what just happened? He was starting to suspect that his mother might have bipolar. Her ability to change moods swiftly was terrifying.

Four hours later Zi Han who barely got any sleep walked down the stairs looking like a zombie from the walking dead. His grandfather who was in a great mood for some reason responded to his morning greetings while lifting two fingers.

‘Ah, shit,’ swore Zi Han internally completely understanding what those two fingers meant. He had only two days left before his deadline. Whatever was waiting for him on the other side could only be described as hell.

Zi Feiji had lost his map and someone had to pay for it. Unfortunately, that someone was his precious grandson.

Zi Han wasn’t the only one looking like he had been to hell and back. His fellow classmate looked like he barely slept with puffy panda eyes. Yi Chen looked terrible causing Lin Ruoxi’s heart to ache. “My poor baby. Did your father overwork you again? My son is not a robot Yi Tang!” she yelled at her husband accusing the wrong person.

Marshal Yi dropped his utensils a little aggrieved. “I didn’t do it I swear. Whatever this is has nothing to do with me,” he said defending himself from the false allegations.

“It’s not dad’s fault. Dage is trying to emotionally black mmmm... mmm,” said Ming Ming before her mouth was sealed shut by Yi Chen.

“She overheard my conversation with Li Ran last night. I was working on a project that’s all. I plan on emotionally blackmailing him into more training,” he said only for Yi Youxi to chuckle while burying his face into his breakfast.

Both parents were suspicious but after their conversation last night none of them thought it was good to snoop on their eldest so they acted like they were stupid accepting his explanation.

Soon the family of five split with Yi Chen and the Marshal sharing the same hovercar. It’s not that Yi Chen had to go with him.

It’s that Marshal Yi wanted to have the talk with him but he was so embarrassed that he could only say it on their way to the academy which was a very short distance.

Yi Chen was completely unaware that he was about to have a speeded up crash course on the birds and the bees as he stepped into that hovercar.

Ten seconds later he wanted to claw his way out of there but it was too late. “So..... They must have taught you about sex in um.... high school,” said Marshal Yi cutting straight to the chase.

Yi Chen, ‘.....’

What the fuck was going on today? Was he hallucinating or something? He hadn’t slept all night and now he was having a nightmarish dream about his father talking about sex.

“Then I don’t need to get into detail... Do you know the origins of why military personnel through history wear white gloves?” asked Marshal Yi but of course, Yi Chen didn’t know nor did he know why this had to do with sex.
