Reincarnated In A Shitty Love Game

Chapter 5

“Here’s your morning dew, your majesty,” Hua mocked and handed over a warm mug of chocolate milk.

After a shot of chocolate goodness, Feng finally regained her composure. “What are you doing here anyway,” she whispered, munching on the small marshmallows.

“I heard you got fired,” Hua said with a sad smile. She even went to the extent to hug her and pat her back as if she was a pitiful puppy. “There, there, I will raise* you,” she whispered.

“Demoted not fired. Jeez woman, don’t give me that pitiful look,” Feng shudder in her embrace. Besides, I have my family inheritance. I don’t need to be raised*” she said and swatted her roaming hands away.

“Hump, I thought I could have my pet cat at last,” Hua Said with a silly smirk.

“Ayigo.....I’m not a house cat. I’m a wild jaguar,” Feng said and walked over to her kitchen. She placed the dirty mug along with all the dirt dishes in the sink and washed her hands. Her phone chimed right at this moment.

.....

She found five missed calls from her assistant. “Why did he call me so many times,” she whispered and called him back.

But Hua plucked her phone out of her hands and cut the call. “Today is your day off. No office business. And this...will be in my custody for this entire weekend,” she said with an accomplished smirk. “Oh, there is this new food place near the Osaka. I heard they serve wonder beef stew. Let’s go check it out,” she said.

“Hmm,” Feng sighed and nodded. They were in C city, to get to Osaka it will take them a two hour flight to Japan. ‘Why does she always plan an overseas trip during my weekends?’ she sighed internally. But she would never say no to this fierce young lady. Last time she uttered the word ‘No’ Hua pouted and whined for days until she fulfilled her wishes.

After accompanying her friend the entire weekend, they returned home with a happy smile and an awful tan.

Feng dropped her home and drove back to her own. Only after reaching her bed did she realise that she forgot to get her phone from Hua. “Well, I can get it tomorrow morning,” she whispered and rolled herself in the duvet.

The next morning, after Dressing up, she hailed a cab and went to the company.

The company entrance was surrounded by a huge crowd. There were even reporters and ambulance stationed there with their stretchers out.

“What is going on?” she frowned.

“Don’t know, get down lady,” the cab driver rudely informed.

Sighing, Feng gave him the fare and got down. Today was the day she lost her privileges for her company car, so she had to travel by a cab. ‘Oh, I miss mister Ling,’ she thought.

She unsteadily walked on uneven concrete floor on her four-inch heels. Suddenly she was surrounded by three police officers.

“Are you Miss Feng?” one of them said in an intimidating tone.

“Yes.... what do you need, kind officers?” Feng responded with a small courtesy.

“We need to testify your alibi on the death of Mister Ling Chua,” the policeman said and led her the police vehicle.

“What! Mr. Ling is dead? How?” she exclaimed as the officer pushed her kindly inside, guarding her head from the top of the car.

“We will brief you later. In the police station,” he said and entered the car and drove away.

Dazed, Feng Mei sat in the back seat. The front part of the car was divided from the back using a mesh railing. ‘Look at me, degrading from a privacy screen* to a police holding cell*,’ she thought and held her aching forehead.

They reached the police station sooner than she thought. Soon she brought into an interrogating room and questioned.

“How do you know Mister Ling?”

“Umm...he was a potential business partner... how did her die by the way?”

“Miss Feng, we ask the questions, not the other way around. Now tell us, what caused you to kill him,” he said flipping through the file.

“WHAT! That’s Preposterous. Why would I kill that na?ve young guy? He was supposed to be my business partner,” she shouted out loud. ‘I am barely capable of killing a fly, and they say that I filled a man. Absurd!’ She was enraged by their declaration.

“Miss Feng calm down or else we might cuff you to the chair,”

“Yes sir,” she obediently sat on the chair. Fiddling with her fingers she glanced at them, checking their files and whispering to each other. “Look, I did not kill that man. I was actually searching for him. Last Friday, we were supposed to sign a partnership but due to some circumstances we had to postpone it. I tried contacting him later, but he was completely unavailable,” she said, but the officers did not look convinced.

“You can.....call my assistant. He knows. He was the one trying to get in contact with Ling on my behalf,” Feng said. “And....can you tell me how he died. Like, it’s too sudden. He is really young and I...didn’t expect this at all,”

Another police man barged in and whispered to the investigators.

“Miss Feng. Mister Ling has made a testimony that you are the reason that he is dead,” the police man said with a glare.

“WHAT!!!!”
