Chapter 452 Unfortunate Situation
"Oh, looks like Dave\'s down here."
The goalkeeper was on the floor now with his teammates and a few other Black Roz FC players gathered around him.
He had his face on the floor, and judging from the way he was moving his legs, he seemed to be in serious pain.
Adolf had to help him lift his face, and when he did that, they all let out loud gasps.
The goalkeeper\'s face was covered, and it didn\'t look like it was coming from just his nose, his left eye was completely shut and there was also blood dripping down from it.
"Uh, oh, that looks way more serious than I imagined," Jim commented.
"That doesn\'t look good, the striker\'s boots got him on the left eye too."
Minino would have already started a fight on the pitch over that but Aveiro who was the cause of the situation the goalkeeper was in now seemed to be genuinely apologetic for his actions.
The medical team had to quickly make their way to the pitch to see what they could.
Things weren\'t looking good for Dave, but how exactly did this happen?
Well, it all started in the seventieth minute when Dave put a neat strike from Aveiro right from the edge of the box over the bar with a really good close save.
Black Roz FC won a corner kick and they hoped that this would be their chance to finally pull one back against their opponents and that was the point where everything stemmed from.
Mason was the one taking the kick, and as soon as he heard the referee\'s whistle, he sent the ball flying in.
The midfielder\'s intent there was more for going for goal than crossing it in as the ball ended up curling toward the crossbar and smashed right on it before falling off a little to the right.
That was the moment before the disaster as Dave dived toward the ball just as Aveiro was coming toward it with a slide.
The goalkeeper got to the ball first to grab it with both of his gloves but it was all at the cost of getting his face smashed by the heel of Aveiro\'s boot.
That was a clear foul and the referee even gave the striker a yellow card but after seeing Dave\'s face, the fans and his teammates, Minino specifically were asking for a red card because that was a brutal injury that he just gave to the goalkeeper.
[ 40/100 HP ]
\'It\'s been a while since I\'ve seen that.\' He said subconsciously before letting out an inward chuckle.
<What do you mean? You got an HP message at the start of the season, but don\'t worry, you\'ll be okay>
\'Oh, yeah, I suffered an injury at the start of the season. It was during a training session but I wasn\'t able to play against Dynamo FC because of it, and now our next match is against Dynamo FC.\'
The goalkeeper had to be carried off the pitch with a stretcher, he had to be taken down to one of the treatment rooms to receive proper treatment because his left eye wasn\'t looking great.
"Sad, it looks like Dave Richards won\'t be able to continue with the match and Alexander will be coming on to replace him."
The fans were raging at this point, but there was really nothing more they could do, they could throw stuff at Aveiro whenever he gets close to their side, but that was unacceptable behavior especially away from home.
"I\'m sorry, guys." He muttered under his breath as they took him down the tunnel.
<Hey, just what are you whining about? They\'re already three goals up with less than thirty minutes left in the game, if they lose the lead during that time then it\'s all of them, but still I don\'t think Black Roz will be able to do something like that, it\'s not like the defense weren\'t doing a good job>
\'Yeah, you\'re right but I was talking about missing another match against Dynamo FC, the only match I\'ve missed this season was against them and we ended up losing that match, it\'s our only loss in all competitions so far this season.\'
<Oh, well, then you have a point but you may still be able to play, this isn\'t as serious as the last one, blood coming out doesn\'t mean it\'s worse>
\'I don\'t know about that, Catherine, it sure feels that way. God, my left eye and nose hurt like hell now.\'
It didn\'t take long before they got to the treatment room with the goalkeeper, and after dropping him on the bed, they left to get the doctor who was going to be taking care of him.
They used first aid on him before bringing him in so there was nothing to worry about for now.
The affected eye was just his left eye, but he couldn\'t even open his right eye properly because doing that made his left eye hurt more so he just closed it.
While he was trying to calm himself down and relax his mind, he suddenly heard a ding sound in his head.
[ Quest forfeited as you are unable to continue the match ]
[ +200 exp received ]
[ Every other reward has been forfeited because of your inability to continue the match ]
\'Would you look at that, the system is feeling generous today.\'
<Yeah, not something you see everyday>
While Dave was down the tunnel receiving treatment, the match had to continue, and it looked like his teammates already punished their opponents for what happened to him because the scoreline now was four goals to nothing.
"Just what was that strike?!"
The players were celebrating in front of the fans now with their voices and that of the fans going up.
"I did not expect him to shoot from there but he went all the way and somehow managed to put it in," Steve commented.
The player they were talking about was none other than Roland Ryle.
The left-back was the one who started the build-up from his side and after sending the ball to Mateo from the center of the pitch, the winger sent the ball back to him.
After receiving the ball back from the winger, he pushed it forward a little before firing it toward the goalpost from that far away.
He fired the ball toward the top left-hand side of the goalpost and although the goalkeeper managed to get his hand on it, he just wasn\'t able to keep it out as the ball ended up smashing right past his hand to fall into the goalpost.
That was a goal that got the fans off their feet just like it was supposed to.
"Yet another banger goal from Unique FC to compete for the goal of the season award," Jim commented.
"That\'s winning goal of the month for sure."
Black Roz FC players had devastated looks on their faces as the voices of the away fans kept going higher and higher.
"Dave may be out of the match, but maybe they should have thought about putting him out earlier because right now, I don\'t think there\'s any way they can make a comeback now."
